Arena UK & Europe on the Goodwood grid

  • Extending a wonderful 14 year relationship, Arena UK & Europe helped transform the Goodwood Estate into a world-class motorsport venue for the annual Festival of Speed, 29th June – 2nd July.

Arena Seating project manager Bradley Merchant oversaw the installation of 8,541 tiered tip-up seats across the site, offering petrol heads optimum views of the racing action across the four-day celebration of cars past, present and future.

This year saw the 11 tiered grandstands utilise Arena designed Arcus roof covers for the first time, chosen for its improved spectator viewing. The grandstands were located with one at the Start Line, three main Park Grandstands lining the Grid Side of the racetrack running through the centre of the event, the Pheasantry Grandstand situated next the Clark Pavilion constructed by Arena Structures, another three grandstands on Molecomb Corner and a final Flint Wall Grandstand at the edge of the site accessible to ticket holders, before the cars disappear around the remainder of the course broadcast across the site’s giant screens.

Arena Structures, led by project manager Tanya Niemand, installed the Clark Pavilion, a new temporary hospitality structure to further enhance the guest dining experience. Situated on the House Side of the site near the F1 Pit Lane presented by Sky Sports, the Clark Pavilion boasted a total of 1,050m² of luxurious hospitality dining space, internally fitted out to the highest of industry standards.

To the front of the structure, guests could enjoy the adrenaline-fuelled automotive entertainment from an outdoor, covered balcony, or trackside al fresco dining.

Spaceworks, sister Arena UK & Europe division, was also on hand to transform the Clark Pavilion into a high-end dining destination with the provision of wooden outdoor furniture and stunning white parasols.

This year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed saw Justin Law secure the fastest time of the hillclimb competition, taking just 46.13secs for the 1.16 mile ascent in a Jaguar XJR-12 endurance racer.
